whose history and prestige have always been linked to glass working and the inventiveness and skill of craftsmen, heirs of an ancient art, who have passed on the fantasy of shapes, the purity of transparencies and the intensity of nuances down the centuries.
In one of the numerous glassworks, you can watch the extraordinary process of blowing and modelling used to crystallise the fluid incandescent material into an object which is absolutely unique because entirely hand made.
12.00board again and transfer to Burano Island
which welcomes visitors with the unusual scenery of its homes with their brightly-coloured fronts, in the shade of which the lace-making tradition continues. In the church of San Martino, noted for its leaning bell tower, we can admire the Crucifixion by Giambattista Tiepolo. Thanks to recent restoration, the large canvas can again show off all the expressive vitality of its colours.Groups are left to decide freely on how to spend their time on the island and where to have lunch.
15.00board again and transfer to Torcello Island
A stone raft floating on the flat horizon of the lagoon marshes, telling story having its roots in the very distant past.Its Byzantine cathedral dates back to 1008 but inside it are more traces dating back even earlier. Next to the Church of Santa Fosca, built in the 11th century, we can see Attila's throne. Memories of stone, together with the fields, orchards and gardens, are evocative and charming.
17.30board again and return to Tronchetto
The trip programme involves 8 hours of boats hire but can be organised ad hoc according to requirements.
